St Joseph's Catholic Primary School

Giving Day 2024

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that our recent Giving Day exceeded all expectations in raising £20,066 including Gift Aid for the It Takes A Village Fund!

Thanks to the enormous generosity and support of our parents and the wider community, we beat our initial target of raising £5,000 during the second day, which prompted Executive Headteacher, Mrs Wyatt to increase the target to £10,000 for the 36-hour event. We were amazed when we exceeded our second target and finished with over £14,000 in donations by the end of the event.

The funds we have raised as a community will allow us to invest in the expensive maintenance requirements that our stunning Grade 2 listed building needs, preserving the rich heritage of architecture throughout Cadogan Street that dates back centuries, and continuing to provide a warm and functional learning environment for our pupils.

The additional funds will go towards providing our pupils with resources and opportunities that will enrich their educational experience, continuing our legacy of a first-class Catholic education for our pupils and those who join our school in the future. This is all thanks to you, our community.

The enthusiastic response to our Giving Day exceeded all of our expectations, with a 77% participation rate from across the school community. Additionally, following the campaign push, some parents have committed to making monthly pledges, which are transformative for the school.

We are so thankful to have such a committed community who continue to show so much support for St Joseph's and are incredibly grateful for everyone who got involved in our Giving Day, whether donating directly to the Fund or spreading awareness about the event.

All of us thoroughly enjoyed the activities and challenges over the course of Giving Day. Day 2 of Giving Day coincided with St Joseph’s Day, so our class challenges reflected St Joseph’s own values of loyalty, strength of character and teamwork. These ranged from a religious words themed Inspiring Spelling Bee organised by our Year 6 pupils to Good Example Litter Picking

Plus, in true St Joseph's style, we challenged ourselves one step further with one final challenge where Head of School, Mr Stacey and our Head Prefects, Alexandra and Enrique, walked from our school to Westminster Cathedral to have a private meeting with His Eminence, Cardinal Vincent Nichols, Archbishop of Westminster to pray for the St Joseph’s community in a very special ending to our Giving Day and to celebrate the Feast of St Joseph.

Once again, we would like to thank the staff at St Joseph’s who made this such a special event for our pupils and our community who have shown so much support and made it possible.

From all of us at St Joseph's: thank you so very much.
